2018 Weekly Readings

Living in The Story offers a unique read-through-the-Bible-in-a-year plan. Each week you will engage a text from the Old Testament, from the Psalms, from the New Testament and from the Gospels. You will be able to watch some of the ways the biblical authors interacted with their own Scriptures and how biblical theology evolved over time as The Story unfolded through the ages.

The Story tells about God’s covenant relationship with God’s people and about the people’s response to that covenant. It is a story filled with both beauty and terror; both faith and fear.

It is God’s Story but it is told by God’s people as they reflect on their own journey together with their Creator. This Story is not fact or fiction; it is a story written by people of faith for people of faith. It is witness to “the steadfast love of the Lord whose mercies are new every morning.”

But this is also our story and we can see ourselves in the struggles and triumphs of the ones who have gone before us. The mystery of Scripture is the Spirit breathing life into these ancient words and the Living Word still speaking to each of us individually and all of us together.
